Dear Patients and Friends,
I am writing to inform you of an important decision that I have made regarding my medical/surgical practice. After much consideration and reflection, I have decided to retire effective July 1, 2024.
Please know that your health and well-being remain my top priority, even as I transition into retirement. I am committed to ensuring that this transition is as smooth as possible for you and will work closely with you to facilitate the transfer of your care within our office. Dr. Obermyer and our Nurse Practitioner, Maggie Kuczynski, continue to welcome my patients and new patients.
This decision was not made lightly, but after many years of practicing ENT/Plastics/Allergy, I feel that the time has come for me to begin this new chapter in my life.
I want to express my deepest gratitude for allowing me the privilege of serving as your doctor. It has been an honor and a pleasure to be a part of your healthcare journey, and I am truly grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me over the years.
For any patients who would like to seek care elsewhere please feel free to contact our office with your new doctor’s name and we will transfer your records directly to that physician.

Dr. Brettschneider is an experienced Ear, Nose, and Throat physician, holding triple board-certification in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Oro-Facial Plastic Surgery, and Allergy.
His initial career as a Nuclear Pharmacist paved the way to his journey in the medical field, which began with obtaining his degree from Michigan State University. He honed his medical expertise during his residency at MSU/McLaren-Macomb and embarked on his practice in Port Huron in 1990.
As a Board-Certified Otorhinolaryngologist, Dr. Brettschneider is a specialist in advanced sinus surgery, including office-based balloon sinuplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, and minimally invasive skull-based surgery. He also possesses significant skills in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, performing a range of procedures such as skin cancer removal and reconstruction, rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, and otoplasty.
To ensure he remains at the forefront of medical advancements, Dr. Brettschneider is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head Neck Surgery, American Osteopathic Colleges of Otolaryngology and Ophthalmology, and the Michigan Otolaryngologic Society.
A trusted authority in his field, Dr. Brettschneider has shared his knowledge and insights through multiple lectures, discussing topics like Endoscopic Balloon Dacrocystorhinostomy, Coblation Tonsillectomy, Thyroid Tumor Management, and surgical treatment options for Sleep Apnea.
